The GRE Team sat down with Lauren to learn what she was most looking forward to in her new role as a Project Engineer.
Q: Why did you choose to come to GRE?
A: I chose to come to GRE due to their extensive knowledge around the field of architecture and construction. The ability of GRE to work so closely with the owner and their needs striked me as a wonderful way to learn a new perspective in the industry. I was drawn to the passion that GRE showed for their work. The idea that I would be working closely with such knowledgeable staff excited me. I also like branching out and working on more life science buildings that I definitely now find more interesting.
Q: How does GRE’s culture fit with what you were looking for in a company?
A: My first impressions of GRE were that it is a smaller company, but its people are driven and connected to each other. I wanted to be around people like that. As I get to know the company more it really is a family. As a new member I was welcomed with open arms, with coworkers there for me, and willing to put trust in me. I wanted that type of environment in which we are all able to connect, work well together to make sure we produce our best work.
Q: What are you most looking forward to in your new role?
A: I am most looking forward to all that I will be able to learn from the GRE team along with their partners. I look forward to being able to take my architectural and construction management background out and really work with owners, contractors, construction managers, architects and so many more players in this vast field.
Q: What most excites you about working in the project management industry?
A: The most exciting thing about working in the project management industry is being able to connect every piece of the project together from the smallest aspect to the largest aspect of the building. The opportunity to apply and connect what I've learned in school to my job really excites me. I am also excited by the ability to connect with new people and learn new things from anyone willing to share.
